Support with site development
With technical expertise and practical experience, Gaia Guidance will advise you on the context-specific integration of a project site. Every project is unique — which is precisely why it is worth taking an outside perspective. With its holistic approach to Permaculture, Gaia Guidance can examine challenges at the meta level and work with you to develop solution strategies.
The following questions are an example of the ways in which Gaia Guidance can assist you.
- Which actors use the space?
- What are the opportunities and challenges?
- Welchen Qualitäten soll die Fläche entsprechen?
These services are intended for private, public, or corporate clients who have questions about the sustainable development of a project or would like a second opinion.
Make informed decisions
The consultation aims to empower you to make informed decisions that meet your needs and develop your project to be more functional and environmentally embedded.

Consultancy service
Once Gaia Guidance has familiarized itself with the situation during a meeting or visit to the site, it will provide an initial assessment. If requested, Gaia Guidance will then be available to offer expert advice, food for thought, and suggested solutions.
Permaculture-Design
Holistic site design
Permaculture design can be applied on all scales – from vegetable beds to plots of land to entire landscapes. Observation and integration of a wide variety of factors results in a holistic design.

Foundation for sustainable development
A Permaculture design for a site is the foundation for its sustainable development. The focus is on meeting your individual needs as effectively as possible while taking ecological conditions into account.
From concept to implementation
The work begins with a discussion and an on-site inspection. Based on this, Gaia Guidance then develops a comprehensive design plan based on the Permaculture approach.
Depending on your needs, the service includes a floor plan with a list of plants and care instructions. In addition, Gaia Guidance can assist you with the practical implementation and long-term establishment of the design.
Syntropic Agroforestry
On the role of humans
Syntropic agroforestry systems are complex systems with a high degree of biodiversity and plant density in both spatial and temporal dimensions. They are comparatively labor-intensive, but offer the opportunity to take on one of the roles naturally intended for humans. Similar to our animal relatives, who cause minor disturbances in nature through their daily activities, for example by breaking branches, turning over soil, or even damming watercourses, syntropic systems are stimulated to grow and produce through targeted intervention and intelligent management. This has many positive side effects for biodiversity and the soil. Syntropic systems therefore show particularly great potential for the regeneration of degraded areas.
Multifunctional
Planting a syntropic system has a positive effect on the development of the entire system. In addition to the diverse food and wood production resulting from the high diversity of plants, soil is actively built up, habitat is created, and the microclimate is regulated.

Working with succession
The service includes the development of syntropic agroforestry systems as well as support with implementation and long-term management. Gaia Guidance accompanies you from the initial design to the establishment of the system.
Water Retention & Erosion Control
The blessing of rain
In conventional water management, rain is usually perceived as a problem. It must be drained away as quickly as possible to prevent flooding, especially in view of the predicted increase and frequency of extreme precipitation events. However, draining rainwater means that water reservoirs such as groundwater and surface water can hardly regenerate, even though they are of central importance for the extraction of drinking and utility water. Increasing soil sealing exacerbates this problem by making it more difficult for rainwater to infiltrate the soil.
However, rain is also the mechanism that transports clean, free water, the source of life, across the land. Water retention therefore deals with the management of surface water for the purpose of slowing down the water before it leaves an area. The slowing of surface runoff is achieved through the use of retention elements such as lakes, ponds, terraces, basins, or ditches. The water can be distributed and stored for later use or allowed to seep into the ground, where it is available to a variety of users.
Rain no longer needs to be seen as a source of problems if we learn to harness its potential and tap into it as a primary source of water.

Water supply and climate resilience
One of the main objectives of water retention is groundwater recharge. The infiltrated or otherwise stored water is then not only available to plants, but also serves as a source of drinking and utility water. The resulting water bodies provide habitat and microclimate, as well as reserves for mitigating extreme weather events and their consequences, in particular floods and droughts, erosion, and forest fires.
This can reduce the potential damage caused by extreme weather events beyond the boundaries of your property.
Greater autonomy and resilience through independent water management
Gaia Guidance will take care of the planning, implementation, and maintenance of water retention systems to moderate and utilize the water flow on your property. Have a water management plan drawn up for your property or business and get help covering your water needs with clean and free rainwater as much as possible.
Courses & Other Educational Programs
Day events to week-long courses
Dive into the world of Permaculture and related topics. Attend a one-day introductory seminar on Permaculture or take a six-day course to learn how to use rainwater most effectively on your property.
Gaia Guidance offers events on the following topics:
- Composting
- Water retention in the landscape
- Introduction to Permaculture
- Introduktion to syntropic agroforestry systems
The courses are aimed at beginners as well as practitioners who want to deepen their knowledge. If there is no suitable course currently planned in the event calendar, you are welcome to get in touch and discuss the possibility of an individual course.
A worthy investment
Knowledge is most effective when it is widely disseminated. Permaculture has enormous potential that can only be realized when it is applied by a broad audience — and that begins with education. For you personally, knowledge is also an important prerequisite for living a self-determined life and achieving your own goals – one of the most sustainable investments you can make.

Organization & conduction
Gaia Guidance organizes and conducts events on various topics related to Permaculture, ecology, and regenerative land use. In addition to theory, practical exercises or work assignments are also offered whenever possible. The events can be booked by arrangement or are available for registration in the event calendar.
Design-Coaching
Create your own design
A Permaculture design is an important step toward the sustainable use of land. However, it is well known that no plan survives initial contact with reality and is only as good as its users' identification with it. A design from Gaia Guidance is tailored to you personally. Nevertheless, it cannot achieve the quality of a self-developed and organically grown design. You are already familiar with your project and your own needs and will interact with it on a daily basis – this puts you in the best position to adapt the design to reality. If this familiarity does not yet exist, the design process offers an opportunity to change that. Your own design creates a connection and has the potential to be better tailored to both of you.
Gaia Guidance would therefore like to encourage and support you in becoming creative yourself and drawing up your own plan. In doing so, you can gain an insight into Permaculture and receive the tools to further develop your land on your own.
This service is aimed at people who have access to a piece of land that they want to develop. The design process can be complex and requires time and the willingness to address problems or issues openly and honestly. No prior knowledge of Permaculture is required — Gaia Guidance will guide you through the process step by step.

Build a relationship with your site
During the design process, you will get to know yourself and your land intimately, allowing a relationship to develop. You will make the decisions that determine your design and understand the reasons behind them. Ultimately, the goal of Gaia Guidance is to inspire you to approach your project with mindfulness. All of this will most likely have a positive impact on the sustainable use and development of your land.
Going through the process together
Gaia Guidance takes you by the hand and accompanies you through the entire process. First, you will receive an introduction to Permaculture and its central aspects. You can then develop your project independently or with guidance using various methods from the Permaculture toolbox. You decide for yourself how much support you would like to receive from Gaia Guidance.
